Materials
Laboratory materials in plain language — not a product list to purchase.
This site provides general educational information only. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend specific treatments, prescribe appliances, or establish a dentist–patient relationship.
Acrylic bases and teeth
Many removable prostheses use acrylic resins for bases and preformed or custom teeth. Shade, shape, and arrangement are chosen clinically and fabricated in the laboratory.
Frameworks and reinforcements
Some partials use metal or other framework materials. Strength, fit, and design are clinical and laboratory decisions under a dentist’s authorization.
Why materials matter educationally
Understanding materials helps community members ask clearer questions. It does not mean you should self-select a material or brand — that belongs in a dental exam.
