Denture Types

Educational overview of common categories. Your dentist determines what is appropriate.

This site provides general educational information only. It does not diagnose conditions, recommend specific treatments, prescribe appliances, or establish a dentist–patient relationship.

Complete (full) dentures

Laboratory-fabricated appliances that replace all teeth in an arch. Construction often includes impression stages, bite records, wax try-in, and final processing — coordinated through your dental office.

Partial dentures

Appliances that replace some missing teeth while others remain. Design and materials vary widely; your dentist and laboratory collaborate on the authorized design.

Immediate and staged work

Some pathways include temporary or staged appliances while tissues heal. Timing and clinical decisions belong with your licensed dentist — this page only explains that staged laboratory work exists.
